Our Neighborhood
The Green Cow is located at The Liberty Towers, Jersey City, New Jersey. The building is a residential high-rise apartment complex with above ground parking and street level retail businesses located between Hudson and Greene Streets in the waterfront section of Jersey City. The Liberty Towers is located across from the future Goldman Sachs building and right next to the Essex Street station of the Hudson/Bergen Light Rail.

This area, less than the size of New York's Central Park, possesses one of the world's most spectacular views (the New York skyline to the east and the Statue of Liberty to the south), and was the site of an important battle during the American Revolution. It has evolved since, from sparsely populated marshland to thriving manufacturing center during the Industrial Revolution and through the middle of the twentieth century.
Today, this quiet residential neighborhood of well-maintained brownstones and Italianate buildings has welcomed numerous international corporations to its financial district at Exchange Place, with Harborside Financial Center anchoring this ongoing development. Less than half mile to the north, Newport Centre Mall provides a retail shopping hub for both local residents and New Yorkers.
Paulus Hook acquired a new significance following the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001, as Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., Fidelity Investments, Mizuho Corporate Bank and other companies began moving thousands of workers out of New York City to cut costs and disperse staff (Bloomberg News July 29, 2002).
The Green Cow was designed by Ms. Debra David RA pc, an architect with a history of success in keeping with the tradition of the Paulus Hook area.
